On a Saturday night this winter, I joined Chantelle and Luke at the Fairmont Royal York in Downtown Toronto to capture their engagement session on film. The brief: flash, film, fun.

We made our way from their hotel room into the hallway, then down to the lobby. The hotel was hosting an eight-hundred person event that night but we found some spaces that were perfect for what we needed—especially the 10th floor elevator landing and a stunning red couch beside the reception desk!

Chantelle and Luke are the prototype for a partnership rooted in passion and admiration. I can’t wait to shoot their waterfront wedding later this year.

I shot this engagement session on both film and digital. I used Portra 800, Ilford HP5, and Cinestill 800T.
